Pen May 24, 2010 Emend and Talley Partner to Offer Turn Key Solutions to Healthcare Market

Emend, an information technology company specializing in providing technical and workflow management solutions to healthcare providers, and Talley, Inc., a leading distributor of wireless communications infrastructure and mobile products, have teamed up to provide turnkey precision data transfer solutions to the healthcare industry.

“This partnership will allow us to deploy a turnkey solution as a finished product,” said Terry Schladetzky, President of Emend. “Diagnostic imaging centers have struggled in the past with conflicting priorities of security, bandwidth, and uncompressed images. Both our cross-campus and long-range licensed solutions can deliver speeds of up to one Gigabit per second, all for a fraction of the cost of much slower utility leased services.”

Available technologies can fulfill both bandwidth and security requirements as well as providing an estimated 90 percent cost savings over the course of a typical three-year deployment.
“Emend’s established presence in the healthcare industry has offered Talley an opportunity to provide solutions to an industry that does not normally have visibility to the wireless products Talley offers,” said Rhys Fernandez, Broadband Sales Manager, “ We hope that all of our customers recognize Talley’s effort to create partnerships that can assist them with the same level of support in providing product solutions to their industry specific clients.”
About Talley: Talley's corporate offices are in Los Angeles, with stocking facilities in Dallas, Kansas City, Los Angeles, Phoenix, Sacramento and Seattle. Talley was founded in 1983 and is a privately held family-owned company. For more information please visit www.talleycom.com

for its efforts in deploying and disaster recovery team and successfully averting a potential operational disaster rendering the computer systems inoperable.
Emend worked with Denver's KUSA-9 reporter Deborah Sherman on a story about airport computer security.  You'll be shocked at what we found. During the story Emend discovered that Denver International Airport's maintenance and ramp services used the public WiFi network to transmit work orders to and from servers located at a remote facility. Information containing flight numbers, passenger manifests, employee names, ID badge numbers, and even credit card information was sent to all computers on this public network. The news story which originally aired in May of 2004 sparked an investigation by Colorado's state Cyber Security Officer. DIA officials declined to comment on camera about these findings.
